Mercer begins 2019 season at home against Purple Aces

MACON, Ga. – Mercer will open its 2019 baseball campaign with a three-game home series against Evansville, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at OrthoGeorgia Park.

The series will feature two live broadcasts (Friday, Sunday) on the SoCon Digital Network. Tickets for all three games are available for sale at tickets.mercer.edu or by calling the Mercer Ticket Office at (478) 301-5470.

Batting Practice

Mercer is 12-3 with eight straight victories on opening day with Craig Gibson at the helm.
This is the sixth straight season and ninth overall under Gibson that Mercer has started the season on its home turf.
Eight of Mercer's nine games in February will be played at home.
Friday will mark Sawyer Gipson-Long's third career weekend start. Tanner Hall and Zach Graveno are expected to make their first career weekend starts on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Mercer is 9-3 all-time against Evansville.
Evansville is one of two MVC programs Mercer will face this season (Indiana State).
Mercer is one of just four NCAA Division I programs to win at least 35 games in each of the past nine seasons, joining LSU, Florida State and Vanderbilt.
The Bears are 99-48 at OrthoGeorgia Park over the last five seasons.
