Mercer will send six Bears to 54-hole tournament

TAMPA, Fla. – The Mercer men's golf team will travel to the Sunshine State for the USF Invitational at Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club on March 11-12.

It will be Mercer's second time playing in Florida this spring, as the Bears earned runner-up honors at the Martin Downs Collegiate in Palm City on Feb. 10-12. Six Bears will represent Mercer in the two-day, 54-hole tournament, which will feature 15 teams. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com for the entirety of the tournament.

COACH KAYDEN'S TAKE
"Our team is looking forward to a great event at USF; most of our guys have played the course before and that always helps in our preparation," said head coach Kirk Kayden. "It's a solid mid-major field and I'm confident that our team is prepared to play well.

"This course will require us to be accurate off the tees, as it is a typical Florida golf course with a lot of penalty area. Smart decisions with course management will be an important aspect of our game."
