Mercer Women Fall in SoCon Championship Opener

Bears defeated, 4-0, by No. 3-seeded Wofford

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team fell, 4-0, to No. 3-seeded Wofford in the 2019 Southern Conference Championship quarterfinals on Thursday at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center.

Mercer ended its season at 13-13 overall with the opening-round loss in the tournament. The Bears entered the tournament as the No. 6 seed. The duo of Marie Mottet and Anna Sovic earned a 6-3 doubles win for Mercer's lone victory of the day.

Three singles matches went unfinished; Mercer held the lead in all three matches when play concluded.
