Mercer, Georgia Tech to clash at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Atlanta

MACON, Ga. – Mercer will wrap up its 31-game nonconference slate with a trip north on I-75 to face No. 6 (D1Baseball) Georgia Tech at Russ Chandler Stadium on Tuesday night.

The two teams' second meeting this season is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. in Atlanta. The contest will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.

Batting Practice

Tuesday marks Kel Johnson's return to Russ Chandler Stadium. Mercer's graduate transfer played for Georgia Tech from 2015-18. He went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five runs batted in against his former team in Macon on March 19.
Johnson ranks fifth nationally with 21 home runs after hitting three in a four-game span last week. He is tied with Jack Pool (1983) and John Moreland (2010) for the fourth-most home runs in a single season by a Mercer player.
Mercer is 0-3 against nationally ranked teams this season, dropping all three to No. 11 Florida State.
Mercer fell, 14-8, to Georgia Tech on March 19 in Macon.
Mercer is 10-10 in road games this season.
The Bears are 3-5 against Peach State opponents this season.
Redshirt junior Andrew Kane will start on the mound Tuesday. He owns a 2.19 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 24.2 innings pitched. Tuesday will mark his fifth start of the season.
Nick Spear owns 19 career saves and is just two away from breaking Mercer's career record (20), set by Andrew Urena (2005-06).
RJ Yeager has started 111 consecutive games at shortstop since the start of his freshman season.
