Mercer to Unveil Macon Beer Company Bear Garden

MACON, Ga. – Excitement surrounding Mercer's 2019 football tailgating experience continues to brew with the announcement of the Macon Beer Company Bear Garden, located on Black Field adjacent to Five Star Stadium.

Mercer fans over the age of 21 will have access to the beer garden and be able to purchase exclusive craft beer from presenting sponsor, Macon Beer Company, as well as a selection of domestic options prior to all six home football games this fall. The projected location of the beer garden will go hand-in-hand with the recently-announced Ford Concert Series stage on Black Field.

"The Macon Beer Company Bear Garden will only enhance the full-day experience that we strive to bring to our fan base at Mercer football games," said Mercer Associate Athletic Director Daniel Tate. "We're fortunate to partner with Macon Beer Company, which is just one example of the fantastic locally-owned businesses that Middle Georgia has to offer, not just on Saturdays in the fall, but every day of the year."

Further details regarding kickoff times, broadcast availability and other special events aligned with each of Mercer's six home football games will also be announced at a later date.

"We are excited to partner with Mercer University for their inaugural beer garden," said Yash Patel, the Principal CEO of Macon Beer Company. "It's a great feeling to be able to work together with my alma mater on a great space like this one. It shows how much we value community involvement and having a good time at all Mercer events in a respectful, responsible manner. As the first and only brewery in Macon, Macon Beer Company is the perfect partner for Mercer's first beer garden and will be a great fit for football games and other fun occasions."

Patel, who assumed ownership of Macon Beer Company in August of 2017, earned his undergraduate degree from Mercer University in 2016.
