Mercer finishes first tournament of the fall

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Mercer women's golf finished up its first tournament of the fall Tuesday, shooting an 882 (+30) in the Mercedes-Benz Invitational hosted by Tennessee at Cherokee Country Club and finishing eighth of 16 teams at the event.

Payton Schanen was solid through all 54 holes in the tournament, shooting 72-74-72 for a 218 (+5) and finishing tied for 23^rd. Carol Pyon followed close behind with a 219 (+6) after shooting a two-under, 69 on the final 18 holes.

Mercer will continue its week in Tennessee this weekend with the Mason Rudolph Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt at Vanderbilt Legends (North) – the Bears will play three, 18-hole days of golf starting Friday.
