Mercer is celebrating 50 Years of Women’s Basketball throughout the 2020-21 season
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's basketball team has announced it will host its annual Alumni Day on Dec. 13 when the Bears take on the Alabama Crimson Tide at 2 p.m. in Hawkins Arena.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, certain modifications to the normal procedures have been put in place in order to make sure everyone remains safe at the event.
The alumni will be invited to join the team at the morning shootaround where they will be required to maintain social distancing (six feet; no gathering). There will also be a list of suggestions for things to do in Macon before the game. In order to comply with COVID protocols, there will not be any locker room or campus tours this year.
Each alum will be given tickets and free t shirts when they arrive at Hawkins Arena and will have to remain socially distance during the contest. As part of the program's season-long 50 Year celebration of Mercer women's basketball, there will be a recognition video played on the videoboard at halftime. After the conclusion of the video, all alumni will be welcome to the President's Dining Room for a packaged meal.Â
Any alumni wishing to attend the event should RSVP by Dec. 6 by contacting assistant coach Sydni Means at means_sa@mercer.edu or by calling (478) 301-5354.
