Lance Wise Named Stats Perform FCS Co-Player of the Week

CHICAGO, Ill. – Sophomore Lance Wise was named Stats Preform FCS Co-Player of the Week.

During the Bears' contest against Abilene Christian, Wise was a tackling machine. The Marietta, Ga. native, never had more than seven tackles in a game but exploded for 20 tackles on Saturday against the Wildcats. He became only the second Bear to record 20 or more tackles in a single game, finishing one shy of the school record for tackles, which was 21 set by Sidney Otiwu on Nov. 2, 2019.

Of his 20 tackles, 12 were solo stops and he had one tackle for a loss, while also breaking up a pass during the game.

For the season, Wise ranks second on the team with 32 tackles (16 solo; 16 assisted) in three games.
