
Women’s Tennis Earns Second Straight Win

Bears sweep Lady Braves, 6-0
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team won its second straight match with a 6-0 victory over Alcorn State on Wednesday afternoon at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Complex.
Opening with doubles, the Bears locked up the point. After winning No. 3 doubles by default, the team of Marie Mottet and Lauren Rich won 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. Mercer came away with the clean sweep with a 6-2 victory by Maeva Roquebert and Mary Courville win.
Ericka Chavarria got the Bears' second point with a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 4 singles. Courville followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Alara Hollyfield was victorious, 6-0, 6-0, when she played No. 1 singles. The win for Hollyfield won the match for the Bears.
Rich and Huyhn also earned victories. Rich won 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 singles while Huynh got a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5.
