MACON, Ga. – With the 2020 Mercer Football season around the corner, let's get to know the team's 2020 opponents with our preview series. Mercer is led by first-year head coach Drew Cronic. Up next the Bears' travel to Lexington, Va. to face VMI in the final regular season game of the 2020 regular season.

Mercer will play five games at Five Star Stadium, including SoCon matchups with Western Carolina (Sept. 12), The Citadel (Oct. 10), Furman (Oct. 17) and ETSU (Nov. 7). The Bears will also welcome Charleston Southern (Nov. 14) to Macon. The season kicks-off on Saturday, Sept. 5 when the Bears travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take on Vanderbilt.

THE SERIES
The Bears hold a 5-1 all-time series over VMI. Mercer is on a four-game winning streak over VMI, which includes a 34-27 victory last season at Five Star Stadium.

GAME NOTES
-Mercer heads to Lexington, Va. for the fourth time in program history on Nov. 21. The Bears have never lost a game at Foster Stadium, holding a 3-0 mark.
-The Bears have won the last four meetings over the Keydets. The last win for VMI in the series came during the 2015 season when VMI defeated Mercer, 28-21.
-In last year's meeting at Five Star Stadium, Tyray Devezin's 193 rushing yards in the contest were the second-most in a single-game in school history. The school record belongs to JaTarri Donald, who ran for 202 yards against Davidson in 2013.
