LAKE HARTWELL, Ga. – The Mercer men's golf team sits tied for third place at 1-under par following the first round of the JT Poston Invitational at the Cateechee Golf Club on Sunday.

"It was a much improved start by our players this week. We need a few more birdies in par 5 play and to hit our wedges a little bit better tomorrow. If we are able to do that, our confidence will continue to rise. We left some shots out there, but we're close to putting it all together. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's play from the team."
