Women finished 9th, Men finished 3rd
Lexington, Va. – The Mercer cross country teams competed in the Southern Conference Championships, finishing in the highest ranking in program history. While the women finished tenth overall, the men recorded a third place finish for the first time ever. Connor Kaufman finished 14th overall with a time of 26:10.2, earning himself an All-Conference Second Team selection, another first for the Mercer men's program.
"We have been on the cusp of great things all season," said Head Coach Josh Hayman. "Today was that day where we broke through. They believed today would be their day and made it happen. Very proud of the full team effort and especially Connor for his tenacious run to an All-Conference performance."
"Ladies didn't quite have their day but we know that we are capable of much more. Proud of Laney and her effort to narrowly miss All-Freshman SoCon team"
