Karle Named Offense Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. –Mercer volleyball's Annie Karle was named the Southern Conference Offense Player of the Week with the matches from March 3-9, the league announced Tuesday.

Karle, a junior from Flanders, N.J. had 32 kills in eight sets, averaging 4.00 per set, against Wofford on Sunday and Monday. She led the Bears with a .391 hitting percentage. Karle is leading the Bears on the season with 170. She ranked second on the team in digs with 27.

In the matches against Wofford, she was the only player to record a double-double in both matches. On Sunday, she had 18 kills and 14 digs, while on Monday she had 14 kills and 13 digs.

Karle and the Bears will head to Cullowhee, N.C. for a pair of matches against Western Carolina on Sunday March 14 and Monday, March 15.
