Bears to Host In-State Foe Georgia State on Tuesday

Mercer returns home to face the Panthers of Georgia State on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer baseball team hosts in-state opponent Georgia State on Tuesday evening at OrthoGeorgia Park. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.

- The Bears enter the contest with a 16-11 record and are looking for their fourth straight win.
- Last week, Collin Price hit .467 with five RBI. He extended his hitting streak to five games and had a season-high three hits in game two of the doubleheader at The Citadel.
- Since the 2010 season, Mercer has won the most games out of all the Division I Baseball teams in Georgia. The Bears have won 410 games and are the only team to have 400 wins during this stretch.
- Mercer has hit 35 home runs in 27 games during the 2021 season. The 35 home runs rank 16th in the nation.
- Brandon Michie leads the team with seven home runs and ranks third in the Southern Conference.
- You'd better watch out for Garett Delano. He is a two-way player for the Bears and has 3-0 record on the mound and an ERA of 2.81. Not only is he pitching well, but he has the fifth best batting average on the team posting an average of .319.
- The Bears lead the Southern Conference with 53 doubles, which ranks 24th in the NCAA. 12 different Bears have hit a double, and the team is led by Angelo DiSpigna's 10 two-base knocks.
- RJ Yeager has started every game at shortstop since he arrived on campus as a freshman. He has currently started 167 consecutive games. Yeager will make his 168th career start on Friday.
- Mercer was picked to finish second in the 2021 Preseason SoCon Coaches and Media Polls. The Bears were picked behind Samford in both polls.
- Mercer is one of just four NCAA Division I programs to win at least 35 games in each of the past 10 full seasons, joining LSU, Florida State and Vanderbilt.
