Duluth native grad transfers to Bears
MACON, Ga. – Mercer women's basketball head coach Susie Gardner announced the signing of Endia Banks to the 2021-22 signing class as a graduate transfer.
Endia Banks joins the Bears after a four-year career at the University of Miami (Fla.), where she completed her undergraduate degree in sport administration. The Duluth, Georgia native appeared in every game, rarely missed a start in her tenure with the Hurricanes and even led the team in minutes (29.5) as a junior. Banks scored in double figures in over half of the games and was also the only Hurricane to record a point in every She was a part of two NCAA tournament-selected squads in her first two seasons, which included an appearance in the Round of 32. Â
The five-foot-nine guard ranks 12th all-time in Miami history for career assists, with 327.
Not only talented on the court, Banks was named to the ACC's All-Academic team in her first season at Miami. She will pursue a Master's in Higher Education Leadership.
Prior to her time in Coral Gables, Banks starred at Duluth High, where she was tabbed as Region 6-7A's player of the year. ProspectsNation.com listed her as a four-star recruit, the 53rd-best player in the country, the 13th-best guard in the country and the Georgia's eighth-best prospect.
