Mercer to Travel to South Carolina

The Mercer Bears will travel to Greenville and Charleston South Carolina this weekend to face Furman and The Citadel.
Macon, GA - The Mercer volleyball team will be on the road this weekend after a 1-1 split in Southern Conference play. This will be the third weekend of conference play with Mercer sitting fourth in the SoCon for hitting percentage.

NOTABLE BEARS
- Annie Karle leads the team in kills this season and currently sits in the second spot for most kills (218) and serving aces (25)in the conference. Karle now has 1235 kills for her career(third in the conference).

Middle hitter, Paige Wagers, continues to dominate this season as she leads the team in blocks. Wagers has 59 blocks this season and is third in the conference.
SCOUTING THE PALADINS
Furman sits 4-10 overall with a 0-4 conference record. Furman sits last in the SoCon and is on a five-game losing streak. However, the Bears will have to watch out for Ava Augustson who sits in the top ten in the conference for kills (133T/3.17AVG/S).
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Citadel Bulldogs are 8-8 on the season with a 1-2 conference record. This is the team's 20th meeting with Mercer leading the series 18-2. The Citadel sits right above Mercer in the conference and is second for opponent hitting percentage and digs. The Bears will have to look out for Ali Ruffin who is the only player in the top 10 in the SoCon in both kills per set (4.05) and digs per set (3.54). She is also the only player in the league with kills per set average higher than four.
