The Bears to host the 2022 event at the Brickyard Golf Course
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's golf team begins its April matchups in the 2022 Brickyard Collegiate hosted by Mercer in Macon, Ga. from this Monday to Tuesday (4-5). The Bears will be paired with Sacramento State, Kennesaw State and UCF on Monday, teeing off at 9:00 from six different holes. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament at www.golfstat.com.

THE COURSE:
The Brickyard Golf Club serves as the Mercer men's golf team's primary practice facility. One of the finest golf courses in Georgia, The Brickyard is conveniently located on the outskirts of Macon.The Brickyard Golf Club was built in 1961 by Charles "Chic' Adams. It was formally Riverside Golf and Country Club prior to its purchase in December 2003 by brothers Kenneth and Alfred Sams Jr. The Sams brothers envisioned constructing a true championship caliber golf course for central Georgia that would commemorate their personal ties to Macon golf and contracted former PGA TOUR player Mark McCumber to redesign the golf course and all facilities. It is now an immaculately maintained and private club with a membership of approximately 450.

The Mercer Women's Golf Team finished tied for 14th (942, +78) in the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Georgia. Junior Tracy Rodriguez led the Bears at the UGA Golf Course in Athens. Shortly following Rodriquez, freshman Mikayla Dubnik shined as she finished just one stroke behind her.Â
