Mercer football tallies third preseason ranking
MACON, Ga. – As it gets closer to the opening kickoff of the 2022 season, Mercer football has garnered an additional national ranking – its third of the preseason.
Bluebloods has tabbed Mercer at 18th in its preseason poll. Chattanooga (13th) and ETSU (11th) join Mercer as the Southern Conference selections in the publication's poll.
Earlier in the summer, College Football Network selected the Bears at 16th and Athlon Sports picked them at 17th.
In 2021, Mercer finished with a 6-2 mark for its best-ever SoCon finish and fell short in the league championship-deciding season finale to ETSU.
The 2022 season kicks off at 7 p.m. on Aug. 27 against Morehead State at Five Star Stadium.
