
Men’s Soccer Team Faces Nationally Ranked Georgia State

Travels to Atlanta for first road game of season
The Mercer Men's soccer team hopes to ride the momentum of a strong opening night win, into a Sunday night match-up against Georgia State on Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. It's the first road game for the Bears, and the first home game for the Panthers, who play in the Sun Belt Conference. Georgia State is ranked 30th in the country in the College Soccer News preseason poll.

For Openers: The Bears started the season with a 5-2 victory over Winthrop on Thursday night. Georgia State won 1-0 at North Florida, Friday night.
Helping Hand, er Foot: Dylan Gaither tied a school record for most assists in a game, with four in the victory over Winthrop. Oh, and for good measure, he scored the Bears' first goal of the game, figuring in all five Mercer tallies.
Nice Start: Freshman Fernando Arteaga had a tremendous start to his college career. He scored twice in the second half, about five minutes apart.

Next up: The Bears continue a four-game road trip playing North Carolina State on Friday Sept. 2. Georgia State hosts Winthrop that same night.
