
Sekou Agard Named to United Soccer Coaches All-South Region

MACON - Defender Sekou Agard added another postseason honor to his impressive collegiate resume on Tuesday when he was named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's All-South Region Third Team, the organization announced.
Agard, a junior from Snellville, Ga., was a vital piece to the Mercer defense during the 2023 season, logging a team-best 1,888 minutes of playing time and spearheading a defense that limited opponents  to just 4.2 shots on goal and 1.05 goals per game. He also added 13 shots, as well as two goals and one assist.
Agard was named a 1st Team All-Southern Conference selection this season and was named the Most Outstanding Player in the Southern Conference Tournament as well. Among his highlights this season was a game-tying goal against top-seeded East Tennessee State in the 81st minute in the SoCon Tournament semifinals.

A standout in the classroom as well, Agard was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District squad in late November as well.
