MACON, Ga. – The Mercer baseball program (5-3) dropped Sunday's game against Rhode Island (3-3) in seven innings, 15-4, giving the Rams the weekend series win.

Rhode Island hit four home runs in the series finale, including a two-run shot in the first inning to open the scoring. The Rams increased the score to 12-0 through the fourth before the Bears got on the board. Treyson Hughes hit an RBI single in the fifth to score Ben Olson. Hughes batted 1.000, going 3-for-3 on the day. During the next at-bat, Jozsef Rohrbacher crossed the plate on a wild pitch.

Eli Runyan hit his second home run of the year in the sixth to add a third run to the Mercer total. In the seventh, the Bears loaded the bases, but only notched one run thanks to a walk by Trevor Austin, scoring Antonio Brown.
