
Bears Sign Horizon League 6th Player Of The Year In Deja Williams

Williams joins Mercer after playing at Cal State Northridge and Cleveland State
MACON, Ga. – Mercer women's basketball is excited to announce the addition of Deja Williams. Williams joins Mercer from Cleveland State where this season she was named the Horizon League 6th Player of the Year.
Williams is from Long Beach, California. She played her high school basketball at Long Beach Poly where she was an All-Conference player.
Before playing two seasons at Cleveland State, Williams played her freshman year in 2019-20 at Cal State Northridge. She was named to the All-Big West Freshman Team. She averaged 10.0 points per game and led the team with 55 made 3-pointers which was fourth most in the Big West.
Williams has played the last two seasons at Cleveland State. This season she helped lead the Vikings to a 30-5 record, a Horizon League Championship, and a NCAA Tournament appearance. She averaged 6.6 points per game, 2.0 assists per game and 1.4 rebounds per game. Her 70 assists on the year led the team.
 
She was second on Cleveland State with 44 steals and shot 83.0 percent from the free throw line, also second best on the team.
