Game Time and TV Set for 2023 FCS Kickoff

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer football program will face North Alabama in the FCS Kickoff Game on Saturday, August 26 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, it was announced on Wednesday. The two teams will meet at the historic Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama to kick off the 2023 college football season. Tickets will be available for purchase here on June 1.
This will be the first appearance in the FCS Kickoff for both teams. Mercer, the designated home team, spent the entire 2022 season in the AFCA Top 25, reaching as high as No. 11 and finishing 21st in the poll. North Alabama will open the 2023 season under new head coach, Brent Dearmon.
Owned and operated by ESPN Events, the FCS Kickoff made its debut on August 23, 2014 when No. 1 Eastern Washington defeated No. 17 Sam Houston State 56-35 in Cheney, Washington. The 2023 FCS Kickoff will be the sixth played at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery. Jacksonville State, which defeated Chattanooga 27-13 in the first game on August 26, 2017, earned a 42-10 win over Stephen F. Austin in last year.
