
Mercer Volleyball Reveals 2023 Schedule

Bears to play nine home matches
MACON, Ga. – Mercer women's volleyball has announced its 2023 schedule. The Bears are led by first year head coach Chad Sutton, who takes over the program after serving as an assistant coach at Coastal Carolina in 2022.
The 27-game schedule features nine home matches inside Hawkins Arena. Eight of Mercer's nine home games will be televised on ESPN+.
The season opener is set for August 25 against St. Louis in Tuscaloosa, Alabama as the Bears will participate in the Crimson Tide Invitational to begin the season.
The Bears will play three matches over two days in the Invitational, with them all taking place on Alabama's campus. After opening the season against St. Louis, Mercer's other two matches in the Invitational are against Mississippi Valley State on August 25 and Alabama on August 26.
Mercer will then head down to Tampa, Florida to play FGCU (Sept. 1), Idaho State (Sept. 1), and USF (Sept. 2).
The following weekend, Mercer travels to Auburn, Alabama to play Charleston Southern (Sept. 8), Middle Tennessee State (Sept. 8), and Auburn (Sept. 9).
Mercer will then host Georgia Southern on September 14 in its home opener.
The Bears wrap up their non-conference slate on September 16 against Bethune Cookman on the campus of Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Georgia.
Southern Conference action for the Bears begins September 22 when Wofford comes to Macon. The following day the Bears take on UNCG in Hawkins Arena.
Mercer will play each conference opponent once at home and once on the road.
Other home conference games are against ETSU (Oct. 6), Furman (Oct. 7), Chattanooga (Oct. 15), Western Carolina (Oct. 26), The Citadel (Oct. 27) and Samford (Nov. 11) in the final regular season game of the year.
The SoCon Tournament will take place in Spartanburg, South Carolina from November 17-19.
This year's roster features seven returning players along with 10 incoming freshman and transfers signed under head coach Chad Sutton.
