Harper, James Named To 2024 Senior Bowl Watch List

MOBILE, Ala. – Preseason all-American wide receivers Devron Harper and Ty James were among a 720 NFL Draft hopefuls from more than 100 college programs identified as potential invites to the 2024 Senior Bowl which will be held on Feb. 3, 2024, in Mobile, Ala., and broadcast live on the NFL Network.

Mercer was one of just 19 NCAA Division I FCS schools represented on the preseason watch list which was compiled by 11 scouts with more than 200 years of NFL experience. The staff relied on relationships at the college and NFL levels to stay on top of all of the risers, career backup late-bloomers and transfers taking advantage of opportunities in their final seasons.

The scouting team has been working since February 2022 to identify the "best of the best" draft prospects at every level of college football for the 2024 NFL Draft. The list does not include many true or redshirt juniors who could become eligible as December 2023 (or earlier) graduates.

The Bears will lift the lid on the 2023 season on Saturday when they head to Montgomery, Ala., to battle North Alabama in the FCS Kickoff Classic. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:35 p.m. in the historic Cramton Bowl, and the contest will be nationally televised by ESPN.
