Bears in Fifth Place After Two Days at Red Sky Classic

Dubnik shot 72 on Tuesday to lead Bears

WOLCOTT, Colo. - The Mercer women's golf team shot a 14-over 302 on Tuesday and moved up to fifth place after two rounds at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic.

Mercer was tied for sixth after the first round and moved up one spot on Tuesday.

Mikayla Dubnik had the low round of the day for the Bears with a 72 (E). She moved up 26 spots on the player leaderboard to a tie for 16th thanks to her great second round.

Dubnik had four birdies and one eagle in her round. Her eagle came on the par 5 18th, following Camilla Järvelä who also had an eagle on the hole on Monday.

Dubnik is one shot behind Järvela who is 3-over for the tournament and in 15th place. Järvelä had an eagle on the second consecutive day as she eagled the par 4, third hole.

Dubnik was one of 10 golfers in the field to card a 72 or better on Tuesday.

For the tournament, Mercer is 23-over par 599. Pepperdine leads the field at 3-under par 573.

Mercer is 1-over for the tournament on par 3's. That is tied with Pepperdine for best in the tournament.

The final round on Wednesday will begin as a shotgun start at 11:15 a.m. ET/9:15 a.m. MT.
