Järvelä With Top 10 Finish at Red Sky Classic

Järvelä finished 1-over par for the tournament
WOLCOTT, Colo. - Mercer women's golfer Camilla Järvelä finished tied for ninth place at 1-over 217 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Wolcott, Colorado.
Järvelä and the Bears women's golf team shot 29-over 893 for the tournament, good for a fifth place finish out of 16 teams competing in the event.
The Bears had their best round of the tournament on Wednesday, shooting a 6-over 294. Mercer finished ahead of all three other SoCon teams competing in the event in Wofford, UNCG, and ETSU.
Järvelä carded a 70 in two of her three rounds. She had 13 birdies over her 54 holes played which was tied for the most in the field. She also was 4-under on the par 5's for the tournament which was sixth best in the 88-player field.
Dubnik had four birdies and one eagle in her round. Her eagle came on the par 5 18th, following Camilla Järvelä who also had an eagle on the hole on Monday.
Freshman Ella Mäki-Tanila had her best round of the tournament in the final round on Wednesday. She shot a 72 (E) and moved up 12 spots on the leaderboard Wednesday to finish tied for 32nd at 10-over par. She had 37 pars throughout the week which was tied for third most in the field.
Tracy Rodriguez also carded her best round of the tournament Wednesday with a 1-over 73. Rodriguez was one of the best players on the par 3's for the tournament, going 1-under on them which was tied for third best in the field.
As a team Mercer was excellent on the par 3's, leading the field at 7-over on them. The Bears finished with 42 birdies (3rd most) and three eagles (Tied for most) over the three round tournament.
Pepperdine won the tournament finishing even-par 864.
