
This Week In Mercer Athletics (Homecoming Week)

MACON – It is Homecoming Week on campus and 13 teams are in action this week, including four who will compete in home events on or around campus. The football team will culminate the handful of home events on Saturday when it battles nationally-ranked East Tennessee State at Five Star Stadium.

MONDAY (10/28) |
The women's golf team will close the lid on the fall portion of its 2024-25 schedule when it hosts the Mercer Invitational. The 2-day event is scheduled to take place at the River Forest Golf Club in nearby Forsyth. |
TUESDAY (10/29) |
Two teams will be in action on Tuesday, including the women's golf team wrapping up play at its annual Mercer Invitational. The men's soccer team will be in action at home as well when they suit up to take on Winthrop at Betts Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and admission is free. |
WEDNESDAY (10/30) |
The women's basketball team will play its only exhibition contest of the preseason when it tangles with in-state foe Young Harris at Hawkins Arena. Tipoff has been slated for 7 p.m. and admission is free. |
THURSDAY (10/31) |
No contests scheduled. |
FRIDAY (11/1) |
Three teams are scheduled for road competition on Friday, including the women's tennis team who will trek to Spartanburg, S.C., for the Wofford Invitational. The 4th-seeded women's soccer team will begin Southern Conference Tournament play in Cullowhee, N.C., when they take on 5th-seeded Chattanooga at 4 p.m., while the volleyball team is set to take on SoCon rival Chattanooga at 6 p.m. |
SATURDAY (11/2) |
Saturday will unveil a busy day for Mercer's athletic teams, but the nationally-ranked football team is the only Orange & Black squad in action at home. The Bears will lock horns wih nationally-ranked East Tennessee State at 3 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by visiting MercerBears.com/Tickets. The day will also bring a plethora of road events as the women's tennis team continues play at the Wofford Invitational, while the men's and women's cross country squads will compete in the Southern Conference Championships at 10 a.m. in Greenville, S.C. The volleyball team is scheduled to take on East Tennessee State at 4 p.m., while the men's soccer team will close out its regular season against Furman at 7 p.m. The beach volleyball team will conclude its fall competition when it travels to the John Hunt Park Sand Volleyball Complex in Huntsville, Ala. |
SUNDAY (11/3) |
Five teams are in action on the road on Sunday. The women's tennis team will compete on the final day of the Wofford Invitational, while the softball team will trek to Gainesville, Fla., to battle Florida SouthWestern State at 1 p.m. The men's golf team is scheduled to open up play at the USC Upstate-hosted Fripp Island Intercollegiate.The beach volleyball team will snap the lid on its fall schedule with competitions in Huntsville, Ala., on Sunday as well. A win in Friday's quarterfinal round will move the women's soccer team into the semifinals of the Southern Conference Tournament.
