
Bears Earn Runner-Up Finish At Mercer Invitational

Mikayla Dubnik finished tied for third place
FORSYTH, Ga. - The Mercer women's golf team earned a runner-up finish and Mikayla Dubnik finished tied for third to highlight the 2024 Mercer Invitational from River Forest Golf Club.
As a team, the Bears finished the tournament 5-over, 869 just two shots back of the champions, Jacksonville, who finished 3-over, 867.
Mikayla Dubnik carded the lowest round for any Mercer player throughout the tournament on Tuesday's final round with a 4-under, 68 to finish the tournament at 4-under, 212Â one shot back of the co-champions TK Kongthong from Georgia State and Gabi Nicastro of Samford.
The Bears had three players finish in the top 10 as Katie Scheck and individual Eujin Pyon joined Dubnik in the top 10 on the 69 player leaderboard. Scheck finished tied for ninth at 2-over, 218 and Pyon finished eighth at 1-over, 217. Pyon led the field with 40 pars.
As a team, Mercer finished second in the field with 43 birdies and 160 pars. The Bears outplayed the field by a wide margin on the par 5's, taking advantage of a shorter course to go 7-under par on the par 5's while the next best team on them was Georgia State at 3-over par.
That concludes the fall season for the team as the Bears will get ready this offseason for another exciting spring season.
