Hurricane Milton Evacuees To Be Welcomed At Saturday’s Football Game

MACON – Athletics department officials at Mercer University announced Wednesday afternoon that complimentary tickets for Saturday's football contest between Princeton and the undefeated and 7th-ranked Bears will be offered to individuals displaced by Hurricane Milton which is expected to make its way through the Florida peninsula on Wednesday evening and into Thursday.
"We want to welcome our friends from Florida and all areas affected by Hurricane Milton to Five Star Stadium on Saturday afternoon," said Director of Athletics Jim Cole. "Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those displaced by this storm, and our hope is to provide an outlet to those who have evacuated to Middle Georgia."
Patrons wishing to take advantage of the offer can do so by claiming their complimentary tickets at MercerBears.com/Milton. Kickoff for Saturday's contest is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Saturday's gameday activities at Black Field will begin at 11 a.m. with the opening of the Fall Line Beer Garden, while the Dr Pepper Fansville, complete with inflatables for both children and adults alike, will open at noon. Two-time Georgia Music Awards Female Country Artist of the Year Megan Fowler will open Saturday's free Ford Football Concert Series at noon as well.
Mercer's tradition-rich Bear Walk to Five Star Stadium will take place at 1 p.m., with Billboard country chart regular Eli Young Band set to take the Ford Football Concert Series stage at 1:15 p.m. The gates to Five Star Stadium open 60 minutes prior to kickoff.
