MACON – TJ Moore became just the second unanimous all-America selection in the 51-season history of the Mercer football program on Monday morning when the senior cornerback earned a spot on the FCS Athletic Directors Association All-America Team.
Â
With Monday's first team all-America nod – Moore's sixth in as many announcements – the Riverdale native joined former teammates Ty James and Lance Wise Jr. on the program's short list of consensus all-Americans. A consensus All-American is a player who is named to the first team by at least three of the official selectors recognized by the NCAA – the American Football Coaches Association, the Associated Press, Phil Steele, Stats Perform and FCS ADA.
Â
Players named to the first team by all five selectors are deemed unanimous All-Americans. James attained that honor as well following the 2023 campaign.
Â
Moore started all 14 games for the Bears this season while logging 64 tackles (42 solo), seven interceptions and 13 pass break-ups. He also sported an assist on a tackle for loss early in the season against The Citadel, as well as a pair of quarterback hurries. Moore totaled five or more tackles seven times, including a season-best nine stops in Mercer's setback at perennial national powerhouse Alabama.
