Bears Finish Second Round At Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - The Mercer women's golf team completed it's second round at the Puerto Rico Classic as the Bears shot a 20-over 308 on Monday at Grand Reserve Golf Club.
On a windy Monday in Rio Grande, the Bears couldn't quite follow up their performance from round one and are now 603 (+27) for the tournament and in 13th place out of a strong 15-team field.
Eujin Pyon had the low round of the day for Mercer, carding a 2-over 74. Mikayla Dubnik and Ella Mäki-Tanila have had success on the par 3s as each are 1-under on them for the tournament.

"The wind picked up today and we got frustrated and didn't particularly execute as well as we would have liked," said head coach Michele Drinkard. "Tomorrow will bring on a new set of course conditions and believe me; the team is ready to except this new challenge."
The final round of the Puerto Rico Classic begins the on Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. ET/7:30 a.m. local via a shotgun start. The Bears will be in a group with Louisiana-Monroe and Cincinnati.Team Leaderboard Â
