Scheck's 3-under 69 Highlights Mercer's Final Round At Puerto Rico Classic

As a team, the Bears carded a final round score of 8-over 296 and finished the tournament in 13th place in a strong 15-team field.
Scheck got on a roll in her round on the front nine where she carded four birdies for a 32. Her excellent round was enough to move her up 27 spots on the player leaderboard.
Mikayla Dubnik also had a solid final round as she finished the day with a 1-under 71, matching her 71 from round one on Sunday. Dubnik played the par 5s well, going 4-under for the tournament on them. Only seven other players in the field played the par 5s in fewer strokes. She had just one bogey on her card on Tuesday and finished tied for 31st in the field of 90 players.
Freshman Ella Mäki-Tanila was one of the better players on the par 3s in the field as she went 2-under on them; tied for the third best score on the par 3s.
"I'm pleased with the start of or our season," said head coach Michele Drinkard. "The team showed improvement and finished stronger the last round which will give us momentum going into our home tournament at Reynolds Lake Oconee."
