MACON – Mercer (15-11, 1-2 SoCon) and Kennesaw State (15-11, 6-3 ASUN) will meet for the second time this season. Tuesday's first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m., and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Bears won the first matchup with the Owls this season 9-3 in Kennesaw. This week's Southern Conference Player of the Week Ty Dalley hit a two-run homer as part of a six-run fourth inning. The video of the "Waffle House hit" exploded on social media.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BEARS

The Bears hosted Seton Hall in a three-game series last weekend, falling to the Pirates in the first and last games. Seton Hall built a lead early in Thursday's game, scoring five runs in the second inning. The Bears' first six runs of the game were scored on four home runs sandwiched between two wild pitches. Mercer scored three runs in the ninth inning to come within one, but Seton Hall pulled out the 11-10 win. Colton Cosper started on the mound on Friday and pitched 6.0 innings, giving up no runs until the fifth inning. Five Bears registered RBIs, including seven by Ty Dalley, to lead the Bears to a 14-7 win. In Saturday's rubbermatch, Mercer took a 6-3 lead into the eighth inning but gave up six runs in the frame, ultimately losing the game 9-7.

SCOUTING REPORT

The day after falling to the Bears in their home opener, the Owls traveled to SoCon rival Wofford and took a 4-2 win. Earlier this month, Kennesaw State went 2-1 over Kentucky in Lexington, winning the first two games of the series 13-1 and 10-2. The Wildcats were ranked No. 25 nationally at the time. The Owls also put up an 18-2 win at Clemson in February while the Tigers were ranked 10th. Senior Nick Hassan leads the team at the plate, batting .390 with a .610 slugging percentage in 82 at-bats.

LOOKING AHEAD

Mercer will travel to Johnson City to play ETSU in the Bears' second SoCon series of the season. Friday's first pitch is at 5 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m.
