Bears To Culminate Spring Season On Saturday At Five Star Stadium

MACON – The Mercer football team will culminate its 15-session spring practice season on Saturday when the Bears divide their sloth and call in the referees to officiate an Orange & Black Spring Game at Five Star Stadium. Mercer will take the field at approximately 4:30 p.m. and admission is free.
The spring game will be the first for the program under skipper Mike Jacobs who was named the program's 21st head coach on January 18. The squad underwent the first of its NCAA-limited 15 spring practice sessions on March 15, and has since shown heaps of progress on the gridiron that has left the first-year head coach satisfied.
"We have thrown a lot at them during the spring, and I have been pleased with the way that they have handled it," Jacobs said. "Their work ethic has allowed them to do well, and we have shown improvement along the way. I am excited to have the chance to showcase their progress to our fans on Saturday."
Season tickets for the 2024 football season are available for renewal, and reserved-seat tickets for the 6-game slate can be purchased for as little as $75. Season ticket holders can renew their tickets online at MercerBears.com/Tickets, or by calling the Mercer Athletics Ticket Office at (478) 952-1740.
