
Mercer Finishes In Fourth Place At SoCon Championship

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -Â Mercer had a final round score of 14-over. 302 on Tuesday and finished in fourth place at the 2024 SoCon Championship from Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
For the tournament the Bears finished 47-over par, 911. ETSU won the SoCon Championship with a final score of 15-over, 879.Â
Furman's Anna Morgan equaled the fourth-lowest three-round score in tournament history en route to claiming the individual title after shooting a 2-under 214.
Eujin Pyon had a great tournament for the Bears with rounds of 77, 73, and 75 to finish in a tie for 10th place out of the 44 golfers who played all three rounds. Mikayla Dubnik had the lowest final round score for Mercer with a 1-over, 73.
Graduate student Tracy Rodriguez, playing in likely her final round as a Mercer Bear had a memorable moment on Tuesday as she made eagle on the par 4, third. Rodriguez was one of just two players with an eagle throughout the whole tournament.
Mercer finished second out of the nine SoCon teams in pars with 169, six less than champion ETSU. Pyon had 38 of Mercer's pars which was tied for third most in the field. Katie Scheck was right behind her with 37.
