
Mercer Scores On Two Home Runs In Loss To ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. -- The Mercer Bears (16-14, 2-4 SoCon) had a tough showing on Sunday, falling to the East Tennessee State Buccaneers (20-10, 5-4 SoCon) by final score of 11-4.
Senior Fred Wilson (0-3) got the ball to start for Mercer (16-14, 2-4) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bears were trailing 4-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board on a three-run homer off the bat of junior Parker Lester.
The Bears' deficit grew to 11-3 by the ninth inning when Mercer picked up a run on senior Max Kops' leadoff home run off of senior Owen Kovacs, which tightened the Buccaneers lead to 11-4.Â
