Baseball Goes For Season Sweep Of FAMU On Wednesday

MACON – Mercer (16-14, 2-4 SoCon) and Florida A&M (15-17, 10-12 SWAC) will meet on Wednesday to close out the season's three-game series. The first pitch in Tallahassee is scheduled for 5 p.m., and the game will be streamed pay-per-view on FAMU's website.

| Mercer took a 5-4 lead into the eighth inning in Friday's game at ETSU but gave up two runs in the the frame to lose 6-5. The Bears bounced back on Saturday to take an 8-5 win with six players registering an RBI. The Bears struggled on Sunday but scored four total runs off of two home runs in an 11-4 loss. Jackson Cherry hit a home run to open both Friday and Saturday's games. Parker Lester hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning on Sunday, and Max Kops came in as a pinch hitter in the ninth and hit his first home run of the season. |

| The Rattlers are first in the SWAC with a 10-2 conference record so far this season and enter Wednesday's game winning six of their last seven, falling only to Florida in Gainesville. Senior outfielder Ty Jackson leads the team at the plate, batting .345 and has a .595 slugging percentage. Sebastian Greico is tied for second in the conference for home runs with six. In FAMU's most recent game, the team overcame a 7-0 deficit to take a 9-8 win and series sweep over Alabama State. FAMU's starting pitcher for Wednesday, Dallas Tease, pitched 3.2 innings against Mercer in February and gave up four runs and struck out four batters. |
