Jonsson Picks Up His Second Tournament Title Of The Year, Men’s Golf Finishes 13th

AUGUSTA – Senior Tobias Jonsson put the finishing touches on the seventh tournament title of his collegiate career on Sunday when the Swede carded back-to-back 4-under-par 68 in two rounds to move atop the 78-man field at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational at the par-72, 7086-yard Forest Hills Golf Club. The Bears finished the invitational in 13th place.
Jonathan Parker shot a 3-under-par to move to a share of 49th place after shooting a 3-over-par 75 in the second round. Gustav Sjoberg (+16) finished the Invitational in 70th place. Trey Mixon (+14) had a great final round shooting 2-under-par and finished tied 64th while Jay Spivey (+16) finished the event in 74th place.
North Carolina continued to outlast the rest of the 15-team field after shooting 5-under-par in the final and ended the tournament at 21-under-par. Texas (-15) moved up the leaderboard on the final day after shooting 9-under-par in the final round. Oklahoma State (-3) rounded up the top three from the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational. The Cowboys carded 10-under-par to move up one spot over Illinois.
The Bears will be back on the tee box for the Southern Conference Championship on April 21-23 at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia
