MACON – Mercer women's basketball head coach Michelle Clark-Heard continued to add depth to her 2024-25 roster on Sunday afternoon when Vermont transfer Zenia Palaska inked her name to a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career with the Bears.
Palaska, a 6-2 forward, ventures to Macon after helping to pace the Catamounts to a 25-win season and a berth into the postseason WNIT in 2023-24. The Athens, Greece, product is currently playing a stint in Europe with the Greece U-20 National Team.
"We are thrilled to add Zenia to our program," Clark-Heard said. "She is a skilled and extremely versatile post that can play both inside and outside. Her ability to shoot the three will create a lot of space in our motion offense. She is also an amazing person that comes from a tremendous basketball family. We can't wait for Zenia to put on the Orange & Black!"
Palaska played in five games for Vermont last season and registered six rebounds (1.2/game) in 10 minutes of playing time. She pulled down a pair of boards against both Dartmouth and NJIT, while also recording a block against the Big Green.
Prior to jumpstarting her collegiate career, Palaska played four seasons for Platon School Glika Nera in Greece where she starred as a power forward and center. She captained the squad to a fourth-place finish in the country;s national tournament in 2022-23.
