Cross Country Makes Short Trip To Georgia Tech

MACON, Ga.- The Mercer men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday October. 3 at Bouckaert Farm in Atlanta.
Eight different Bears on the women's team placed personal-best times after finishing 8th overall out of 54 teams at the Southern Showcase. Graduate student Nikki Harris crossed the finish line first for the Bears and finished 20th overall in the women's 5k with a time of 17:14.4, a personal best and the third-best time in school history. The women's outstanding performance earned them a spot on the USTFCCCA Regional Rankings for the first time in program history.
Senior Buck Ledford was the first runner to finish for the men's team in the 8k with a personal-best and fifth-best school history time of 24:47.6 and a 58th place overall finish.
The 2025 Georgia Tech Invitational consists of 15 total teams in the men's 8k and the women's 6k, including fellow Southern Conference teams Wofford and Chattanooga. The men will kick off the day at 8:30 a.m. and the women will follow shortly after at 9:20 a.m.
