Friday marks the 56th all-time meeting between the Bears and Bulldogs. The Citadel brings an 11-11 record into the weekend, having most recently dropped a pair of midweek contests at seventh-ranked Clemson.Â
The Citadel pitching staff has been very good so far this season, holding a 4.84 ERA as a unit. Friday night starter Will Holmes boasts a 3-0 record and leads the conference with a 0.72 ERA. Offensively, the Bulldogs are hitting .235, led by a .310 mark from Garrett Dill.
The Bulldogs went 21-32 in 2024, including a 3-18 record in conference play. They were picked to finish seventh in SoCon preseason coaches poll.Â
