Weekend Weather Forecast Affects Basketball, Tennis Schedules

MACON – Weather forecasts calling for a heavy dose of ice to blanket the Southeast on Saturday evening and into Sunday have affected regularly-scheduled contests for Mercer's men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the men's tennis squad.

The women's basketball team's home contest with Southern Conference foe Wofford on Saturday has been moved to an 11 a.m. tipoff in Hawkins Arena. Tickets for that event are still available and can be purchased by visiting MercerBears.com/Tickets.

The men's basketball team's road battle with league nemesis Wofford has been moved to an 11 a.m. start time in Spartanburg, S.C. The Southern Conference Game of the Week is slated to be broadcast live on both ESPN+ and Nexstar affiliates.

The men's tennis team's road match with North Florida on Sunday has been postponed. A makeup date and time will be announced at a later date.

The women's tennis team's Saturday matchup with College of Charleston will be played as scheduled. First serves are scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Copelan Tennis Complex. Admission to all 2026 MU home tennis matches is free.
