Mercer Quintet Named To CSC Academic All-District Squad

MACON – The classroom work ethic of the nationally-ranked Mercer football team was, again, in the spotlight on Tuesday afternoon when five student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

Seniors Xavier Jennings and Tommy Bliss, as well as junior Samuel Albee, graced Tuesday's distinguished listing, as did sophomores Julian Fox and Kendall Harris. Bliss picked up the accolade for the second-straight year, while Albee, Bliss, Fox and Jennings were all decorated with the honor for the first time.

To receive academic all-district recognition, a football student-athlete must have at least a cumulative 3.50 grade point average as both an undergraduate and graduate student (if applicable) while competing in at least 90 percent or starting 66 percent of his team's games for the season.

In addition to being named academic all-district, Jennings is among a select group of all-district honorees that have advanced to the academic all-America ballot in recognition of their elite performance on the field and in the classroom.

The 2025-26 CSC Academic All-America Team is scheduled to be released later this month.
