Women's Golf Wraps Up First Round At SoCon Championship

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – The Mercer women's golf team wrapped up first round play at the SoCon Championship in seventh place out of nine teams, Monday afternoon from Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, South Carolina.

As a team, the Bears shot a first round team score of 22-over, 310. Furman leads the field at 1-over, 289.

Riley Kim and Mahima Vurupatur tied for the low score for the Bears with a 5-over, 77. They are tied for 19th place in the field of 50 golfers. Chattanooga's Makenzie Cooper leads the field at 3-under par.

The second round for Mercer will begin Tuesday morning with Ella Mäki-Tanila the first Bear to tee off from hole No. 10 at 9:40 a.m.
