Kim In 12th Place To Lead Mercer After Two Rounds At SoCon Championship

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – Riley Kim is tied for 12th place to lead the Mercer women's golf team after two rounds at the SoCon Championship from Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, South Carolina.

As a team, the Bears are in sixth place out of nine teams. For the tournament, Mercer is 41-over, 617. Furman leads the field at 17-over, 593.

Riley Kim carded a second round of 3-over, 75 and is at 8-over, 152 through 36 holes. Furman's Audrey Ryu leads the 50-golfer field by seven strokes at 3-under, 141. Kim is just four shots back of second place. She had two birdies on her round Tuesday including a bogey-free front nine.

As a team Mercer has the second most pars in the field with 111. The Bears were one of just three teams to shoot a lower second round than first round. Mahima Vurupatur has been one of the best golfers on the par 3's through the first two rounds. She is playing the par 3's at even par which is tied for the third best scoring average on them in the field.

The final round for Mercer will begin Wednesday morning with either Ella Mäki-Tanila or Bhoomi Jagtap as the first Bear to tee off from hole No. 1 at 9 a.m.
