
Mercer’s Offense Too Much For Wofford As Bears Secure Sweep On Sunday Afternoon

Decisive Plays:
The Bears jumped off to an early lead with an RBI single by Titan Kamaka in the bottom of the first. Braydon Kersey tallied on two more runs with a single up the middle later in the frame. Michael Graziano launched a two-run home run in the bottom of the second to continue the scoring before Logan Shepherd and Chris Katz each touched home courtesy of a pair of wild pitches. Wofford responded with two runs in the top of the third and three in the fourth. The Bears answered with a four spot in the home half of the fourth headlined by a three-run home run by Kersey (17). Ben Timblin and Brady Gold hit back-to-back solo home runs in the top of the fifth to cut in to the Terriers' deficit. Andrew Mannelly hit Wofford's third solo home run of the night to make it an 11-8 ballgame in the top of the seventh. Gabe Gonzalez added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth to cap off the scoring for the Bears. Reid Fagerstrom took the mound to start the ninth and retired the Terriers' side in order to secure the Bears' sweep.

- Braydon Kersey mashed his 17th home run of the season in Sunday's 13-8 win over Wofford. The sophomore from Alpharetta, Georgia is now three homers away from tying Eric Toth for the eighth-most home runs in a single season in Mercer baseball history.
