Whiting Moves Into Top Ten After Second Round At National Golf Invitational

MARICOPA, Ariz. – Tylar Whiting carded a second round of 72(E) to move into a tie for 10th place to lead the Mercer women's golf team after two rounds of play at the National Golf Invitational from Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.

As a team, Mercer finished the second round on Saturday, four shots better than Friday's first round. The Bears carded a second round of 11-over, 299 and have an overall team score of 26-over, 602. Wyoming leads the 10-team field at even par.

Tylar Whiting had the best round on the course for the Bears with an even par round of 72. That is good for a tie for a tie for 10th place in the field of 47 golfers. Whiting has 28 pars through 36 holes which is the most in the field. Mercer as a team has 110 pars through two rounds which is second most in the field.

The final round for Mercer will begin Sunday morning with Bhoomi Jagtap the first Bear to tee off.
