Bori, Nezianya Voted Mercer Scholar-Athletes Of The Week

MACON – Olivia Bori and Christopher Nezianya represented both of Mercer's soccer programs in the first Mercer Scholar-Athlete of the Week nominations of the 2026-27 academic year.
Bori, a senior midfielder from Jacksonville, Florida, received Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week nods after scoring three goals and notching an assist in two starts for the women's soccer team. Bori led the Bears to a jaw-dropping 8-0 win over South Carolina State this past Sunday when she fired off eight shots and six on goal.
Nezianya, a junior forward from Plano, Texas, scored the first goal of his collegiate career in just his second start with the men's soccer team. Nezianya transferred to Mercer from Tulsa this past offseason and started in both games of the 2026 campaign. Nezianya converted from the penalty spot in the ninth minute of the Bears' 1-1 draw at North Florida this past Sunday.
Both soccer teams will defend Betts Stadium as a Thursday night double feature beginning at 5:00 p.m. The men's program opens the doubleheader against UNCW, with the women's squad closing the night against Georgia Southern roughly 30 minutes after the completion of the first match. Admission is free.
