Bears Win Sandestin Collegiate Classic

DESTIN, Fla. – Despite tough playing conditions, the Mercer men's golf team claimed a piece of the Sandestin Collegiate Classic Championship after tying with West Florida at Raven Golf Club in Destin, Florida.
The Bears' win is the first team win since the 2022 Pinetree Intercollegiate.
Cooper Franklin finished as Mercer's leading scorer and tied for 7th individually at three under in the second event of his collegiate career. Phillips Swift was the Bears' second-best scorer and ended the event tied for 13th individually at one under par.
Ryan Curran shot the low round of the day and ended the tournament tied for 33rd with teammate Lukas Lautrup. Ethan Dufresne finished close behind in 39th.
The Bears have a week off from competition before traveling to West Columbia, South Carolina, for the Bryan Bros Collegiate from September 28-29.
